Lois Duffy, Afton. Lois supports Maureen because:
"Maureen is not only a full and caring person, but she is strong enough to hold her own and represent the best interests of the 6th district. She is professionally honest and truly the opposite of the representation we have now. I also know that Maureen would improve the tenor of the discussion in DC, which we would all be glad to see."
Charles Hipp, Afton. Charles supports Maureen because:
"With health care and the other issues that we need to face as a nation, Maureen is the most qualified and knowledgeable candidate in the race. It's not just health care though, Maureen will be a great addition to Congress by truly listening to our concerns and collaborating across the isle to get things done."
Christy Hlavacek, a former School Board Member from Afton. Christy supports Maureen because:
"I've known Maureen for a number of years now and have been continually impressed by how well she listens to people. When she talks to you, she is sincere and you can really tell that she cares. Maureen also has a great ability look at a problem, synthesize the important information on an issue, and find a solution with a non-partisan approach. She has incredible drive and determination. I really appreciate her pragmatic views, and know she will be a great representative for the 6th District.
Barb Schachtschneider, Andover. Barb supports Maureen because:
"Growing up in North Minneapolis, very close to the Fremont Community Clinic, Maureen's work there originally interested me in her candidacy. As a retired social worker, I greatly admired her work providing healthcare to an underserved population. It is also incredibly urgent that we beat Michele Bachmann, and Maureen is the candidate who can do it. She can draw the moderate and independent voters in order to form a winning coalition."
Leon Tibben, Andover. Leon support Maureen because:
"Maureen would provide much needed leadership in the health care arena. I also know that when elected, Maureen will be a great representative and be responsive to every constituent in the congressional district."
Erla Jean Emily Kyllonen, a retired teacher from Annandale. Erla supports Maureen because:
"She offers so much in what we need in Congress. Maureen is an articulate voice and reasoned person with a background in leadership who would serve the people of Minnesota well. I would be honored to have a Congresswoman of substance like Maureen in Washington."
Ron Jankowski, Anoka. Ron supports Maureen because:
"I hosted a wonderful gathering at my house with Maureen and people who are trying to make a positive difference in the world- I thought that Maureen was a warm, intelligent, caring individual who will excel when elected to Congress."
Dwight Cummins, Bayport. Dwight supports Maureen because:
"Every election, politicians pledge that they will create jobs, cut government waste, and balance the budget. I'm supporting Maureen because she's not a career politician- she's actually done those things in the real world. She brings a proven record of leadership in business, medicine, and education to Congress. We are all better off when we have more individuals in Washington who have real-world experience bringing people together to get things done instead of people who partake in the partisan bickering."
Dave Reines, a retired Firefighter, former School Board member, and current teacher from Big Lake. Dave supports Maureen because:
"I met Maureen over the summer and was very impressed by her as a candidate and her stances on the issues. I also appreciate her real world experience and having a deep background outside of the political arena- something a lot of politicians are lacking."
Marlene Jezierski, Blaine. Marlene support Maureen because:
"Maureen has a practical and analytical mind that will serve our needs well in Congress. Maureen listens, processes input from others, remains objective, and truly seeks the common good."

Jim Hart, Grant. Physician and Maureen's husband. Jim supports Maureen because:
"No one in the world knows Maureen Reed as well as I do. I have been married to her for almost 30 years and I am very grateful for that every day. Maureen is blessed with many talents - three of the most important are: an ability to work hard and work long, a huge amount of common sense, and a deep concern for other people. These are the talents that have made her a popular physician and have allowed her to succeed in a wide variety of management and leadership positions. It would be good for Minnesota and the nation to have my wife serving in Congress."
John Oldendorf, Lake Elmo. John supports Maureen because:
"Maureen is a strong leader as demonstrated by her work in many different areas. This includes her work in her profession as a medical doctor and administrator; her role as Chair of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents; and her past political involvement. Maureen is a leader who will listen to the many interests of the Sixth Congressional district, while focusing on the issues that are of real concern to a broad coalition of Democrats, Independents and moderate Republicans."
Stacey Rosana, a high school student from Lake Elmo. Stacey supports Maureen because:
"The main reason is that she's committed to helping people. The first time I met her it was my first event with the myDFL. Though most of us there can't yet vote, she stopped at our table and introduced herself to everyone. She is truly interested in the people and making sure we get what we need here in Minnesota.
Daniel Croonquist, Lakeland. Daniel supports Maureen because:
"She's not a professional politician; Maureen comes from a background in medicine. With healthcare and the economy being the biggest issues out there today, she would be a great addition to Congress. Maureen's politics align with my values, her only focus will be on looking out for what is in the best interest of her constituents and our country"
Brian Gruis, Marine on St. Croix. Brian supports Maureen because:
"The main reason I support Maureen's candidacy is that I think she'd be such a nice contrast to what we have now. Maureen is not an extremist and will take all perspectives into consideration before making a decision. With Bachmann, we have an ideologue who is marginalized by her extremism and doesn't reflect the people of the 6th District. Maureen's judgments aren't clouded by ideology, making her a far better representative for the district."
Lynn McElin, a small business owner from Oak Park Heights. Lynn supports Maureen because:
"I want someone in Congress who will put aside partisan rhetoric and get things done. Maureen's my choice for Congress because she has a record of doing just that, and I know she'll continue to do so in Washington."
Jessica Hillyard, a graduate student from Ramsey. Jessica supports Maureen because:
"Maureen is the kind of person you want standing up for you in Congress. She is probably the most dedicated and hardworking person I have ever met. When most people would give up and run away from a challenge, Maureen's resolve only gets stronger. The people of the sixth district would do well to send a person as sharp and capable as Maureen to Washington to show those politicians what real leadership is."
Kathy Jacobson Jahnke, an educator from Sartell. Kathy supports Maureen because:
"I met Maureen at a coffee in St Cloud and was impressed with her deep heath care knowledge and think she presents the best opportunity to beat Michele Bachmann. She will be able to build a coalition; attracting votes from Democrats, Independents, and Republicans in order to become our next Congresswoman."
Kimberly Tjaden, Sartell. Kimberly supports Maureen because:
"We need to elect a physician in this time of healthcare reform. I appreciate that she will be an independent voice for the district and has a lot of real world experience. It also goes without saying that Michele Bachmann needs to go, and Maureen is the one who can beat her."
Glenn Ciegler, Stillwater. Glenn supports Maureen because:
"I support Maureen Reed for several reasons. Leading the list is her personal understanding of the medical field and therefore her ability to bring this knowledge to a governmental level rather than having career politicians make these decisions without personal experience. Her role at the Parks and Trails Council is also very important to me as our environment continues to see unfavorable pressures and attacks from many short-sighted entities. Having grown up and enjoyed the beauties of this state, she has campaigned to protect our heritage and will be a responsible steward of this beauty. Furthermore, we need leaders that align people rather than divide them, and I feel she would be such a person."
Diane Dahl, Stillwater. Diane supports Maureen because:
"I have known Maureen for many years as a physician colleauge and friend. I admire her greatly for her intelligence, energy, and communication ability. I know she will thoroughly study the issues and take a balanced stand for rational, fair, and compassionate decisions on the difficult issues facing our district and country, especially in the areas of education and health care."
Karing Nial, a teacher from Stillwater. Karing supports Maureen because:
"I support Maureen Reed because she is a highly qualified, committed and an experienced candidate. We need someone representing us who is intelligent, articulate, reasonable and centrist; not an extremist who subjects us to national ridicule."
Suzanne Sisson, Stillwater. Suzanne supports Maureen because:
"As an Executive Coach and Leadership consultant for over 30 years, I see Maureen possessing the two qualities that make gifted leaders. She is extraordinarily caring and very relationship oriented. She combines that keen ability to listen deeply and touch people with a brilliant and tough mind. She has the courage to make the right difficult choices and care about people at the same time. She is the real thing."
Dr. Howard Stang, Stillwater. Dr. Stang supports Maureen because:
"Maureen has her finger on pulse of health care reform from the perspective of having practiced as a physician in the community. Her leadership in business administration and as the Chair of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents, makes her imminently qualified to take on the task of working to represent us in the 6th District. We really need someone with the energy, drive and leadership to replace Michele Bachmann, and Maureen is the candidate who can do it."
Sara Watson, a Nurse from Stillwater. Sara supports Maureen because:
"Working at a health care Clinic, I've seen both the promise and perils of our current health care system and I know that we need more people in Washington like Maureen, who have world real experience trying to fix our health care crisis- not more special interests or career politicians."
Mary Smith, St. Cloud. Mary supports Maureen because:
"I live in St. Cloud with my husband and five children. I've been an advocate and community organizer for the past 25 years. I'm a lifelong Democrat and in 2008 I was the Political Consultant for Senate District 15. I'm supporting Maureen Reed for Congress because I believe it will take democrats and independents support to defeat Michele Bachmann. Maureen will represent the 6th Congressional District well. Voters are tired of polar opposites and derisive campaigns. We live in a time where we need to work together. Maureen has a proven track record of working with both sides of the aisle. Maureen is a democrat and our beliefs are in alignment. Maureen is brilliant, thoughtful, articulate, and compassionate. Those are not the words I'd use to describe our current representative. We need to do better, and on Nov. 2, 2010, we will do better and elect Maureen Reed our 6th Congressional District Representative."
Pat Spence, Watab Township in Benton County. Pat works as the Catholic Church Lay Ministry and Watab Township Clerk, she supports Maureen because:
"Maureen has the perfect background to represent us in Congress. I worked side by side with her on the University of MN Board of Regents and greatly admired her questioning mind, wisdom, dedication, and leadership. She always seeks the common good and looks for solutions to complex problems based on a set of principles after careful listening and study. Her diverse background in medicine, business, community service and the environment gives her expertise that few other representatives would possess. With the difficult national issues that need solutions, I know that Maureen Reed is the person I want in Washington. I believe that she is the only candidate who can defeat Michele Bachmann."
Michael McAdam, Waverly. Michael supports Maureen because:
"Besides agreeing with her on the issues, Maureen's concise and well-spoken- you can always understand what she means. Maureen doesn't talk like a typical politician. I know that she is strong enough to stand up to Bachmann and won't be afraid to challenge her on the issues."
Robert Cuddihy, Woodbury. Robert supports Maureen because:
"Maureen best represents the moderate views of the clean-living, hard working folks of the 6th district who take pride in their community and expect a fiscally responsible, thoughtful, inclusive, ‘can do' attitude from their elected leaders. Maureen is a proven leader, in touch with the pulse of the people in 6th district. She will work tirelessly for her constituents for the betterment of all and is clearly not just one more polarizing party ideologue. She will get the job done and make certain it's done correctly the first time."
Stephanie Hart, Woodbury. Stephanie supports Maureen because:
"For me, I vote for the person, not the party. The fact that Maureen has had a medical background would make her a tremendous asset in Washington. I had an event at my house with my friends and neighbors including Republicans, Democrats, and Independents. A lot of the people who attended weren't leaning towards supporting Maureen, but changed their minds by the end of the night. Maureen is not only a fabulous speaker, but she is incredibly sincere- and that is a trait we need more of in Congress."
Steve Kiester, a physician from Woodbury. Steve supports Maureen because:
"I've known Maureen for 18 years, both personally and professionally. I support her for many reasons, but most importantly, her integrity and commitment to whatever challenge she takes up. This campaign is the biggest challenge she's ever taken on, and I know, just like with the rest of her achievements, she will be successful."
